Douglas Hess
Douglas Hess is an associate of the firm practicing in the areas of tax law, estate planning and business transactions. A University of Toledo graduate in 1971 with a B.B.A. in Accounting, Doug received his Juris Doctorate degree from Wayne State University in 1976. He was admitted to the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, U.S. Court of Federal Claims and the U.S. Tax Court. Doug began his career at the National Bank of Detroit then transitioned to Chrysler as tax counsel. In between stints at General Motors Doug assisted White Motors through bankruptcy. Upon returning to General Motors Doug held positions as Assistant General Tax Counsel, then as the General Director Federal Taxes. In 1995 Doug was appointed by the IRS Commissioner to the Information Reporting Program Advisory Committee. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan.
